Wow. We are finally back in good old Madison after a week of sunburns, vegan hotdogs and over 50 shows. It feels good to be home, but we’ll never forget our incredible experience at SXSW 2017. See below about Izzy and Audrey’s favorite acts and moments of the festival!
Izzy & Audrey's Arrival
Arriving at the festival and grabbing our press passes!
Diet Cig at Hotel Vegas
This picture sums up our week. Diet Cig at Hotel Vegas our very first day - they have a lot of energy!
Hoops were magical, their set filled us with dancey, dreamy goofiness as usual.
Koi Child killing a set outside. Such a vibing group & one of the best discoveries of the trip.
Izzy’s personal favorite of the week Omni blazed through their sharp, dancey punk tunes (twice)!
Treating us to tracks from In Mind which came out later that week, Real Estate dazzled the crowds & brought all the synthy nostalgic feels.
Also playing songs from their latest LP Volcano, Temples jammed out, and we would listen to them jam on for days if we could. Not to mention, Audrey and James Bagshaw were sporting matching velvet longsleeves.
Snail Mail wowed us with their chilling lyrics, powerful guitars, and impressive youth.
Vegan dogs. Two nights in a row.
Saba with Noname
Saba and Noname took us to church with their feel good beat and badass friendship. Chicago represent.
Audrey’s personal favorite White Reaper. She had a smile from cheek to cheek for their entire set. So punk, so raw, so fun. We love those boys.
Our final day began with a killer set from Forth Wanderers. Cheer up Charlies was a crazy awesome venue, and Forth Wanderers delivered everything we could have dreamed.
Nick Hakim was so sexy it hurt. His voice melted every soul in the room. His guitar shreds melted faces. What more can we say. We left as a giant puddle.
A sunburnt Girlpool ended our journey with sweet harmonies and gentle melodies, easing us into our transition home.
