Show of the Week- Hi-Fi in Lo-Res
Name of show: Hi-Fi in Lo-Res
Time: 11AM Wednesdays
Host Info: Justin Barney. 22, going on 66 years old. Music Director for WSUM, House Fellow for the Creative Arts and Design Community, community eccentric, terrible speller, Slim Jim enthusiast, occasional drag queen, Tom Waits impersonator, pseudo political scientist, chronic collector, and all around weird dude.
What is your show like? Each week there is a theme, and songs from that theme. Themes range from "Good Songs about Bad People", to "The History of Rockabilly", to "Top 20 songs released last Month" Artists range from Little Richard, to Serge Gainsbourg, to Shannon and the Clams.
Why should people listen to the show? You should never do something just because someone told you to do it. So tune in.
How long have you had a show at WSUM? Going on two years. I also host On Wisconsin! (Thursdays at 6), Tom Waits and Tom Waits Play Tom Waits (Saturdays at 5PM), and I generally troll around the station and co-host whatever show is on at the time.
What do you do outside of the station? Drink 40s, collect records, read comic books, shoot hoops, and karaoke My Way by Frank Sinatra
Favorite Music/Best album of 2012: Hunx- Hairdresser Blues, King Tuff-King Tuff, and Blonds- The Bad Ones
Fun Fact about you or your show: I did nearly my entire show through a mega phone two weeks ago and I love America
