Featuring rare documentary footage, video art and a live dance tribute, Starlight Cinema honors legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham on Thursday, November 5, at 8 pm in the Play Circle Theater, Memorial Union.

The evening will culminate as UW-Madison dancer Brittany Wittmann performs an original, self-choreographed dance piece dedicated to Merce, drawing inspiration from her experiences while studying at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio.

In the spirit of Merce's highly collaborative and avant-garde nature, this performance will also feature live processed video projections and improvised, experimental music by Madison artists.

This free event, sponsored by the Wisconsin Union Directorate Film Committee, is intended for UW-Madison students, faculty, staff and Union members and guests.
