Not one of the bigger acts at Revelry, Bronze Radio Return's set time was shorter than ideal. All this aside, Bronze Radio Return still killed it in a big way. Despite having only minimal knowledge of this Hartford, CT 6-piece folk/indie rock group, it was clear from the very beginning of their performance that Bronze Radio Return was pure electricity. Rarely do you see such passion on stage.
Chris Henderson, the lead singer, delivered a performance to remember. His unique vocals at times sounded like an album recording, but he took enough liberties to make the live experience that much more interesting.. The entire band just looked like they were having a blast, smiling at each other and genuinely enjoying this golden afternoon.
Their set list was a perfect mixture of old and new, delving deep into their previous hits for existing fans, and playing hits off their new album like the driving “Shake, Shake, Shake” or the beautiful “Mister, Mister”. With each song, the crowd grew and grew, whether it was new Revelers coming to see the act and wait for the next show, or simply those who were curious and attracted to Bronze Radio Return's energy. Look for them lighting up the stage this summer at Bonaroo and Lollapalooza.
