Where can you combine classical instruments, modern music, and drug related naming puns?
A Portland Cello Project concert, of course!
PCP (as they are lovingly known in short) is a cello collective that performs a variety of pieces, ranging from their own compositions to covers of popular songs. Their concerts are a variety of humor and great music. I caught them when they performed in Madison five years ago, and was utterly enchanted by their lush, harmonious sounds.
The concert will feature a set list honoring Elliott Smith, a Portland-based musician who passed away in 2003. I am sure their unique ability to combine the classical and the contemporary will be in full bloom.
Portland Cello Project is coming to the High Noon Saloon on February 19th at 8:00pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
