Badgers took an unfortunate loss this past weekend at their last home game against NorthWestern. With the first snowfall, fans still came out in swarms to support, and what almost turned into a comeback win ended up as a surprising loss.
The first quarter got off to a slow start. Badgers slip up with an interception from Stave to Northwestern's Nick VanHoose.Northwestern got to the twelve yard line shortly after and made their way up the middle for a touchdown.
Badgers still weren't able to score in the first and second quarter while NorthWestern managed to get another field goal in the second quarter leading the game 10-0.
Finally in the third quarter, Clement gets the catch giving the Badgers their first touchdown with a score of of 7-13.
Now is where it gets shaky. In the last minute of the game Badgers take several attempts at securing another touchdown to tie with Northwestern and hopefully get a field goal over them, but they don't get close enough.
A deep pass from Stave results in getting them 10 yards from the end zone. following that, Stave managed a pass to Peavy in the end zone, but officials overruled the TD after they decided Peavy was not in full possession of the ball. On a worse note, Stave gets sacked on the next play, gets hurt, and had to leave the game. Talk about a quick turn of events.
The badgers last attempt to get a pass into the end zone didn't make it, and Northwestern walks away with a victory of 13-7.
Sorry fellas; we know the calls were questionable. Better luck next time!
