Like the WSUM website? If so, we are very happy you do. College Broadcasters, Inc. was also happy at this year's 2015 CBI national conference in Minneapolis Minnesota this past October.  We were honored with one winner and three finalist awards!

CBI awarded WSUM 91.7 FM the Best Student Media Website winner, Best Student Media Website finalist and two Best Newscast finalists. The awards were announced at the CBI National Electronig Media Convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 24th.

Best Student Media Website was judged on how easy the site is to navigate; how user friendly the web site is for those seeking information about the media outlet; and if the web site is a destination or a resource for listeners/viewers. Best Newscast was awarded based on content and service to the community, judging on writing, editing, news judgment and use of audio.

WSUM's News Director Kelly Wang says: “I'm thankful to be working with the news team that not only loves reporting but also cares about students on campus and the community in Madison. It's an honor for us to receive these awards and we will keep the tradition alive.”

Current Social Media and Web Director Marvin Gutierrez says: “Past web directors and the WSUM executive team have been working hard on delivering a web platform that's both simple and aesthetically pleasing. It's great to see that our listeners, the community and CBI recognize that. I'm just glad to be part of the team.”
