El Ten Eleven Preview

Since 2002, Kristian Dunn and Tim Fogarty have been collaborating on a post-rock instrumental project known to many as El Ten Eleven. The Los Angeles based duo is known for the incredibly textured and original sound, made from simply a bass and drum kit. They released their latest LP Fast Forward back in August of 2015, and they are currently on tour promoting it. The album features Dunn's classic bass lines taken to the extreme. It's difficult to believe that all of this sound and melody can come from an instrument so commonly taken for granted. Songs like “Be Kind Rewind” and “Peter and Jack” take the listener on a sonic journey. I loved the album, along with all six of their previous releases, and am super amped to see them live.

El Ten will be performing this Thursday, the 18th, at the Majestic. Expect to see a killer light show, and let the music take you to places far and wide. It will be a night for the imagination, featuring plenty of new music from their latest LP, but plenty of tunes from their classic releases as well.
