Rock, Paper, Scissors, Sting!

Recently, I saw Sting and Peter Gabriel on their Rock, Paper, Scissors Tour at Chicago's United Center and it was a blast! They kicked off the night with Peter Gabriel's cover, “Rhythm of the Heat”. As Peter Gabriel was singing, the red lighting effects were flashing to the beat of the song and images were changing from red to blue. This representation was a brilliant and creative way of showing the rhythm of heat, and a nice way of celebrating a belated 4th of July. It was a phenomenal entrance to begin the show and introduce the talented and oh so handsome Mr. Sting.

The night featured a grand total of 28 amazing songs and this dynamic duo kept performing without an intermission! How did they accomplish this feat? They switched off every other song to rest in between the music. Now I was impressed by this as Sting & Peter Gabriel are both in their sixties, yet they were an energetic presence, and were able to maintained their killer voices after all these years from their days in Police and Genesis.

By far, I greatly enjoyed listening and dancing to Police's cover of “Every Breath You Take” & “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic”-(This is mostly because I knew all the lyrics to these songs and adored Sting's British accent). Regardless, the duo meshed well together and kept the audience wanting more. For their encore, they performed Police's “Every Breath You Take” and lastly Genesis', “Sledgehammer”. As this remarkable performance came to an end, images of all the band members side profiles were displayed on the screens behind them as they bowed and bid farewell to the city of Chicago.
