Madison is getting deep down low this Friday night as Valentino Khan takes the stage at the Majestic Theater with support from Henrik the Artist and AFFAIR. The appearance of this EDM superstar, just one night after Toronto dance duo Zed's Dead is set to play at the Orpheum, marks a string of performances by huge electronic names in Madison, helping UW live up to its reputation as number 1 party school in America. Valentino Kahn will be the third OWSLA frontman to play at the Majestic in less than a month, with Getter and Ghastly both playing to sold out crowds earlier this semester.
Valentino Kahn will be the third OWSLA frontman to play at the Majestic in less than a month, with Getter and Ghastly both playing to sold out crowds earlier this semester.Valentino Kahn was born in Los Angeles and began producing hip hop at the age of 16. According to Kahn, his introduction to dance music came as he walked past his brother's bedroom and heard Waters of Nazarth, by Justice. From there, his two-sided career began: on the one hand, producing hip hop records for the likes of T.I., 2 Chainz, and B.o.B., and on the other hand, producing and DJing dance music under his own name.
Kahn's EDM career truly got off the ground in the summer of 2014 when he signed his debut EP, In Kahn We Trust to Skrillex's label, OWSLA. The music video for the first song, “Make Some Noise” reached widespread popularity, and Kahn continued to produce a variety of electronic genres, remixing and collaborating with artists such as Skrillex, Dillon Francis, Diplo, Boys Noize, Flosstradmus, Zeds Dead, and Bro Safari, to name a few. Valentino and Diplo's 2014 single, Bubble Butt, reverberated around the world in clubs and at festivals, and Deep Down Lowbecame the “most played track by DJ's in 2015.” Valentino Kahn and Skrillex's single, Slam Dunk, released in July of this year, is just the beginning of what OWSLA has in store for its fans in the near future.
The show starts at 9pm this Friday, October 14th.
