The Staves will be returning to Wisconsin for the first time since the Eaux Claires music festival on Wednesday night at the Majestic Theatre. These Midwest favorites will bring their breathtaking melodies and harmonizing abilities alive in an intimate fashion. They have certainly had an exciting two years, releasing the Justin Vernon-produced If I Was in early 2015, opening for Florence and the Machine on tour, and joining the live setup for Bon Iver for an Asian tour this past Spring. The three sisters have come a long way since initially performing as “The Staveley-Taylors” at open-mic nights at a local pub.
This 7-show tour of Minneapolis and Wisconsin was inspired by their love for the culture of these two great states. In order to more closely get to know these communities, they held a contest in which local bands could send their material in for a chance to open the show. The winners were local acts Gloss Coats and Among the Wild. How cool!!! This show should be an exciting weekday endeavor that is easy on the ears.
