Foxygen will be performing at the Majestic Theatre this Saturday night after the release of their latest album Hang.
After the release of …And Star Power, the indie rock duo comprised of multi-intstrumentalists Sam France and Jonathan Rado from Westlake Village, California had declared that their 2015 tour would be the last one. Yet, fans were incredibly pleased when a third LP was announced and Foxygen put out tour dates in support of it. Their avant-garde tunes paired with their eccentric stage presence is iconic of Foxygen. Their latest album highlights the band's taste for experimentation with the addition of a 40-piece band to their sound. As Foxygen blurs the lines between funk, psych-pop, and rock, they're sure to entertain you with favorites like “Follow the Leader” and “San Francisco.”
Opening for Foxygen is Australia's Gabriella Cohen, the front woman of The Furrs. Cohen's solo album, Full Closure and No Details, is a hazy melody of her own as she marks Velvet Underground and Mazzy Star as influencers. Her dreamy, laid-back tunes should be a sharp contrast to the main act, nevertheless emphasizing Foxygen's unique sound.
Tickets are still available for the show on Majestic's website.
