Demetri Martin will be coming to the Orpheum this Thursday, April 20th to kick off his Let's Get Awkward Tour. He'll be in Boston, Portland, Tucson and other cities over the next couple of months.
Hailing from New York City, Demetri has always been a favorite of mine. His comedy routines draw from such keen observations– I find myself thinking of him and his cynical jokes in my everyday life.
Demetri points out the idiocracy of life by taking the obvious and pointing out its flaws. His jokes are straight to the point, accessible to anyone listening. No sarcasm, nothing too complicated, just good, real comedy. I am so excited to see him live for the first time after many hours spent in the car on road trips listening to him through my phone.
