On Friday, July 7, experimental rock group Palm will play a show at the Frequency. This will be their third trip to Madison in the past year. In October 2016, Palm opened for And The Kids at the Frequency, and in late February 2017 the band opened for indie rockers LVL UP at Der Rathskeller. They now return to the Frequency for their first headlining show in Madison. Palm are touring with New York's Palberta, and the show will also feature Chicago's Melkbelly as openers.

The band is currently touring in support of their new EP, ‘Shadow Expert', which was released on June 16 on Carpark Records. All six songs were written and recorded nearly two years ago, around the time of their previous two releases, ‘Ostrich Vacation' and ‘Trading Basics'. Using strange time signatures, angular riffs, and synthy guitars, the band has carved out an interesting place in experimental rock that can only be described as ‘Palm'.

At their shows, Palm recreate their sound live on stage, building an atmosphere that is both true to their recorded material yet somehow bigger and more full-sounding. For old fans and new, this performance will be sure to turn heads.
