Entering the venue, the floor was empty, but much like the music of the night, it slowly built into a dancing, breathing entity lit by strobes and laser.
Starting the night was Cleopold. Accompanied on stage by only his keyboard, laptop, and synthesizer, he delivered haunting melodic music that vibrated throughout the crowd. Back lit by a single spotlight, Cleopold started the night on a hauntingly beautiful note.
Next, accented by only a strobe light and the coolest lasers I've ever seen was Nosaj Thing. In his set, Nosaj Thing combined new and old music in an ethereal soundscape that shook the room. Nosaj Things set prepped the crowd for the dance party that was to come.
Finally, Com Truise took the stage and provided the 80s synthwave that the crowd had expected. Backed by four LED screens, the room lit up in vibrant popcorn colors that popped along with the bass of the music. Com Truise, almost frantically, adjusted knobs and mixers while entranced in his music. Even more enveloped in the music was the crowd, that now bounced to every crackle and sequence. All in all, the night was a slow build up into a dance party that would take any Monday by surprise.
