Vancouver-based producer, DJ and Red Bull Music Academy member Ekali will be coming to the Majestic this Friday to bring his ethereal sounds and club beats. Ekali's sound is difficult to classify as it often breaks genres and has truly created a niche of its own. From slower tracks incorporating soothing vocals, hip-hop influences, thick 808's and an ample amount of percussion to brass heavy trap songs featuring bars from Denzel Curry, Ekali boasts an incredible sound. Describing his own sound, Ekali states, “my production style paces back and forth from club rhythms to more ethereal and textural sounds”. Adding to his resume, Ekali even has two writing credits on Drake's album If You're Reading This It's Too Late for the tracks “Preach” and “Wednesday Night Interlude”. On tour with Medasin and Judge, Ekali has built himself as one of the top performers and producers in the industry today, alongside the likes of Skrillex and Flume. Without a doubt Ekali is on the leading edge of genre creation and music production and will surely put his talents to use this Friday.
