Madison welcomes dynamic soulman Curtis Harding this Wednesday at the Majestic. He will be joined by home-grown power pop foursome Heavy Looks. I hesitate to be so bold, but this just might be the show that manages to get the Majestic crowd dancing.

Curtis Harding's tour follows a career of working with and learning from some of your favorite bands. Singing backup for essential acts Outkast, The Roots, and Lauryn Hill establishes his pedigree as top-notch. His second album Face Your Fear is the product of collaboration with prolific indie multi-instrumentalist Sam Cohen & master of the mash-up Danger Mouse. Harding notes that this release comes after time spent in the singular Atlanta music scene which taught him “it was cool to be yourself.” His un-ironic approach to authenticity pervades, some of his hooks coming off as distilled pseudo-sermons.  Instrumentally a melange of warbling synths, chunky guitars, and aggressively analog drum beats, these tunes are built to get down to.
