Durand Jones began as a singer in the youth choir at church in a small town in Louisiana, before moving to Indiana to study music. While at Indiana University he found himself in a dingy Indiana basement being the singer of a wild college band that became the Indications.
The Indications consist of the drummer, Aaron Frazer, guitarist Blake Rhein, bassist Kyle Houpt, organist Justin Huber, and saxophonist and singer Durand Jones. Together they combine to form a burst of classic soul in a gust of eagerness to excite and get the crowd grooving.
Madison, for one night, will put aside its Big Ten rivalry and welcome Durand Jones and the Indications to the Frequency. I'm excited for this Thursday, the 12th, to see how the band that put together a soulful hit record with less than $500 will bring a priceless night to start the weekend.
