On Tuesday, October 23rd, the Boston natives comprising Slothrust are bringing their alternative sound to the High Noon Saloon. Accompanying the trio is Mannequin Pussy out of Philadelphia and the Madisonians of Heavy Looks. This combination of hard-hitting indie rock with a more jazz-infused take is sure to impress.
Coming off the back of their fourth studio album, The Pact, the members of Slothrust have made a name for themselves in the alternative genre. The founding members–lead vocalist and guitarist Leah Wellbaum and percussionist Will Gorin–created the band in 2010, with bassist Kyle Bann joining the duo shortly thereafter. Their debut album, Feels Your Pain, became highly successful, even having a single featured as the theme song of a television show. After the release of their second album, Of Course You Do, Slothrust signed with Dangerbird Records to produce their third album, Everyone Else.
With their signature blending of modern grunge and 90s alternative, Slothrust never fails to impress. Engaging chord progressions are made all the better with clever lyrical grit; and judging by their live recordings, their stage presence is certain to entertain the audiences of the High Noon Saloon next Tuesday.
