Woooooh! One word to epitomize the experience of Big Gigantic and Flamingosis—superlative! If you love big drops with a beautiful melodic saxophone then Big Gigantic is the group to see. Likewise, if you love jiggy vibrations and a Latinx-type of feel then Flamingosis is your man as well. Flamingosis began the evening with a groovy mix, ebullient dance moves, and ended his set with a phenomenal display of his beatboxing ability.
Moreover, even though Flamingosis had great visuals with illuminating colors, Big Gigantic's visuals were ineffable! Big Gigantic's visualizations seemed to articulate their personal values and beliefs, as their visuals contained images about love and cannabis. The visuals throughout the show were complemented with an amazing light show as well. One small critique—toward the end of Big G's set their visualization froze for a mere 30 seconds but continued to work after that. On the other hand, Big Gigantic surprised everyone by dropping some unreleased songs throughout the show!
Additionally, Big Gigantic had beautiful saxophone solos, mixed in some throwbacks (e.g., Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls, Kanye West, etc.) and some deep beats to get the crowd moving! It was also very evident that Big G was fully aware of the culture here in Madison, as they even played “Jump Around!” On the whole, both performances were not only delightful but groovy as well, and the vibration stayed at a level of love the entire night.
