Young the Giant

American alternative rock band Young the Giant will be performing with Sure Sure in Madison at The Sylvee this Saturday, February 23rd on their Mirror Master Tour. Hailing from Irvine, California, Sameer Ghadia, Jacob Tilley, Eric Cannata, Payam Doostzadah and Francois Comtois released their first EP “Shake My Hand” in 2008 as The Jakes and went on to release their first studio album, “Young The Giant”, in 2010 after signing to Roadrunner Records and changing their name in 2009.

Their breakthrough album, “Young the Giant” caught the ears of the public as the tracks “My Body”, “Cough Syrup”, and “Apartment” all charted on the US Alternative Songs Chart. The success of the band fueled a second and third album (“Mind Over Matter” in 2014 and “Home of the Stranger” in 2016) and the band is now touring their fourth studio album “Mirror Master”.

“Mirror Master” (released on October 12, 2018) follows suit with Young The Giant's notorious soft alternative sound but showcases a more electric sound in some of the tracks including “Call Me Back”. They also touch on some deeper topics that allow for an emphasis on their beautiful lyricism in songs like “Oblivion”, “You + I”, and “Darkest Shade of Blue”.

Touring with Young the Giant is the band Sure Sure comprised of members Chris Beachy, Charlie Glick, Kevin Farzad, and Michael Coleman. The band employs a warm sound with twinges of 1980's electronic influences and is completely self-produced out of their house-turned-studio in Los Angeles, California. The band just finished touring with Hippo Campus in 2018 and is embarking on their national headline tour in April following the release of their first studio album “Sure Sure” (2018).

With two great bands making an appearance at The Sylvee in Madison, this Saturday's show is one you won't want to miss!
