Space Jesus Review

Author: Francisco Lozano

Last Sunday (02.24) Madison, WI was invaded by the Spaceman AKA Space Jesus! To accompany his arrival he brought with him: Huxley Anne, Toadface, and BUKU. As soon as the openers were finished the stage took on a intergalactic vibe for the headliner. His performance was immediately different from his opening acts, as the light show and visualizations were unique and very detailed. For instance, his opening acts only had their name on the visualizer and only used a portion of the lights compared to Space Jesus. The headliner's visualizer contained images of aliens, pyramids, his own face, a colorful galaxy, flying eyeballs, three-eyed meatball subs, among other mind-bending concoctions.
The main act did not disappoint for this sold out show! Although he created a very calm and chill vibe upon his entrance onto the main stage, he quickly got deep, as he introduced us to the Temple of Boom! His intergalactic vibes joined with his swirling lights and lasers called for a hypnotic experience.
He put his fans, including myself, in an alien wormhole throughout the night with his sludgy sounds mixed in with some Trap and Hip-Hop feels. The Spaceman even dropped a remix to the classic Space Jam Track! On the whole, this experience was definitely memorable and Space Jesus is a very wholehearted individual. He not only gave a big shoutout to his openers at the beginning of his set but he even brought them on stage with him to finish out the night. What a humble guy!
