It might still feel like winter in Madison, but Jai Wolf is bringing the spirit of festival season to the Majestic Theater on Thursday, April 25. Jai Wolf will be stopping in Madison midway through his “The Cure to Loneliness” tour and is sure to come armed with the indie-dance anthems that fueled his rise to fame.

In 2015, Jai Wolf burst onto the electronic music scene with the infectious hit song “Indian Summer,” which remains one of his most popular tracks. He followed that success with “Starlight,” a dreamy collaboration with Mr. Gabriel released in 2017. The two years since brought a series of remixes and collaborations, culminating in the release of his debut album, The Cure to Loneliness, on April 5 of this year.

Jai Wolf, known to some as Sajeeb Saha, was born in Bangladesh and raised in New York City. This cosmopolitan upbringing can be heard in the variety of distinctive influences present in his music, including classical, hip-hop, and indie music. Skrillex discovered Jai Wolf in 2014 through a track the then-bedroom producer had posted online. Since then, Jai Wolf has undergone a series of transformations, from bedroom remixer, EDM producer, and DJ to dream-pop indie artist. He is currently signed to Mom + Pop records, a home he shares with artists such as Courtney Barnett, Andrew Bird, and Sunflower Bean.

Following the release of The Cure to Loneliness, Jai Wolf is undertaking a 35-stop North American tour in support of the album. For this project, he leaned away from the shock-factor of EDM in favor of a focus on melody and lyrical meaning. Do not take this to mean that Jai Wolf has gone soft. The album still features the catchy melodies and hooks, atmospheric quality, and dance focus that fans of Jai Wolf know and love. On The Cure to Loneliness, Jai Wolf wants you to dance until you drop, but he also wants to connect with you. He is a great entertainer with something to say. So, if the chilly spring weather is getting you down, head to the Majestic, where you can dance to Jai Wolf, close your eyes, and *almost* feel like it's summer.

Jai Wolf is playing at the Majestic Theater on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 9pm.
