The Magic City Hippies are coming to the Majestic Madison this Tuesday, October 8! The band is based out of Miami, Florida and is going to serve up some refreshing, yet relaxing beach bum soul vibes. Magic City Hippies are a self-proclaimed indie-funk group that also incorporates hip hop beats, with pop funk overtones. If you are a fan of Coast Modern or Sure Sure, this is the concert for you!
Singer/songwriter Robby Hunter started out doing solo shows playing with a mere looper until he recruited drummer, Pat Howard, and bass player, John Coughlin. The trio performed under the moniker Robby Hunter Band for many years as their sound and fan base simultaneously developed. What started as a one man show became a full five-piece group known as Magic City Hippies with the EP Hippie Castle marking their debut in 2015. They have self-released many singles since and most recently released their first full length album this August called Modern Animal.
Doors are at 7:30PM and the show begins at 8:30PM.
