As many students on campus have already noticed, signing into your MyUW account is a little different this year. All students must now enroll in the UW's multi-factor authentication program, which requires students to use a second device to verify that it is in fact them logging into their account. We sat down with UW-Madison's Chief Information Officer And Vice Provost For Information Technology Lois Brooks and Interim Director for Application Infrastructure Joe Tarter to discuss this new measure, the decision to sacrifice convenience for security and the future of data protection at UW-Madison.
