The UW-Madison recalled all of its students studying abroad in Italy on February 28 due to an outbreak of the coronavirus.

According to an email from the Study Abroad Office sent to students in Italy, the UW came to this decision after the Center for Disease Control issued a level 3 travel advisory for Italy over the spread of the virus. According to Channel3000, this decision will bring 170 Madison students back to the US.

We had a chance to talk to three of these students, Will Husted, August Nastasi and Chloe Colaluca, to hear how they navigated the spread of the coronavirus in Italy and the recall and get their thoughts on the UW's decision.

This piece originally aired on March 8.
