UWPD investigating double homicide in UW Arboretum.

UW Police opened a homicide investigation after finding two bodies in the UW Arboretum on Tuesday morning.

According to a UWPD incident report, a jogger found two bodies in a ditch inside the arboretum at around 6:30 AM. Upon arrival, authorities found one of the victims already dead. The second victim died after being taken to a hospital.

The UWPD has not released any identifying information on the two victims except their genders; one of them was male and the other was female.

According to the incident report, police are investigating these deaths as a homicide. At press time, the UWPD has not named any suspects or made any arrests.

Police are asking the public to avoid the arboretum for the time being. The UWPD noted that this incident is not related to the reports of gunfire and the suspect taken into custody outside of the University Hospital.
