Governor Tony Evers expands the allowed operations of nonessential businesses under the Safer At Home order.
By order of the Governor, starting Wednesday at 8 A.M., nonessential businesses will be able to facilitate exchanges via curbside pickup, rent recreational equipment, and automatic or self-service car washes will be allowed to reopen.
“No one wants to reopen our economy as much as I do,” said the Governor in a press release, “and we're working to do everything we can to make sure we can do so as soon as we safely and responsibly can.”
The order builds upon previous allowances for nonessential businesses included in the extension of the Safer At Home order, which enabled such businesses to conduct basic operations throughout the duration of the order.
Under these new allowances, nonessential businesses will be able to drop off and pick up goods or animals from customers to be serviced at their business, as long as the exchange and payment can be made virtually and staff within the business is limited to one person per room. Additionally, businesses that rent recreational equipment will be allowed to reopen under the same pick-up and one-employee-per-room rules. Lastly, the order allows automatic and self-service car washes to reopen.
