Wisconsinites may be on the verge of losing their beloved Badger football season this fall due to COVID-19, reports Channel3000.
Presidents of the Big Ten met for an emergency meeting this weekend to discuss the fall 2020 sports season. As the Badger's football training camp begins today, the conclusion of the meeting could jeopardize the start of the season or eliminate it altogether.
Continued concern for the health of student-athletes sparked the conversation amongst Big Ten officials.
On Wednesday, students received a message from Wisconsin athletics indicating that student tickets would not be sold. With only Conference games on the schedule, the season kickoff is Sept. 4 at Camp Randall.
At press time, Big Ten officials have not met their decision. WSUM will continue to follow this story and issue updates as they emerge.
