FEA
Song Highlights: “Feminazi” Fea, “Ya se” No Novelties
A feminist punk marvel, Fea brings back memories of Bikini Kill and Mommy Long Legs with their music. Fea's protest inspiring songs are not only in English, but also in Spanish and French. Hopefully their set will be as punky and rowdy as their music is.
Pinkshiift
Song Highlights: “I'm Going To Tell My Therapist on You” I'm Going To Tell My Therapist on You, “i'm not crying you're crying” Love Me Forever
Hailing from Baltimore, Pinkshift is a rock band taking influence from 90s grunge. Similar to No Doubt, this band is certainly one to watch!
Viagra Boys
Song Highlights: “Troglodyte” Cave World, “Creatures” Welfare Jazz, “Worms” Street Worms
Really cool warning: I have Cave World on cassette. And listening to this band walking around with my walkman makes me feel effortlessly cool. From Sweden, Viagra boys gives me peak punk vibes, more specifically influences from the Sex Pistols, the Buzzcocks and The Dead Milkmen.
Origami Angel
Song Highlights: “Bossa Nova Corps” GAMI GANG, “The Title Track” Somewhere City
Origami Angel: This one is for the books. Unfortunately placed at the same set time as Pinkshift, Origami Angel is an emo/midwest-emo band for the books. This is a for sure go see. With math rock influences, Origami Angel has fire hit after fire hit.
The Cure
Song Highlights: “Just Like Heaven” Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, “Boys Don't Cry” Three Imaginary Boys.
The one, the only: The Cure. Honestly they have every right to be the headliner of this event. Classic songs, legendary.
