The vibes are pretty low for Badger fans right now, but the schedule makers have given this Wisconsin team a golden opportunity to bounce back from a bad loss against USC last week. A chance to establish some identity in front of their home fans this Saturday against a Purdue Boilermakers team that hasn't beaten the badgers since 2003. Our WSUM team of writers feels this is the perfect opportunity for the tables to turn in Madison.

The Badgers loss to USC was uniquely crushing because it felt like they squandered some legitimate promise, especially on offense where 21 points in the first half was followed by a negative seven point second half where the only scoring was a Braedyn Locke pick-six. With a weak opponent on tap, Wisconsin will play four quarters of solid ball and get themselves their first encouraging win of the season.

Judging off the first four games of this Badger football season, there will no longer be any ‘easy' wins on the schedule. Especially with the badgers offense having yet to score over 30 points this season, despite light competition in weeks one and two. They once again run into light competition this week with the Purdue Boilermakers, who are allowing 44 points per game this season against FBS opponents. This is a massive opportunity for Coach Fickell and Coach Longo to establish some identity on offense. We've seen flashes of greatness especially in the first half of the USC game, so let's see if the Badgers can put together a full four quarters of complimentary football against a team they should beat.

Death, taxes and the Badgers beating Purdue… it has never mattered the team on the other side of the field. However, this year's iteration of Purdue looks especially terrible on both sides of the football compared to other years. Wisconsin owning Purdue is college football's version of the Green Bay Packers vs the Chicago Bears. Fans already know the result before watching the contest. It's just a matter of predicting the score correctly, and I have the Badgers taking this one 28-10.
