We at WSUM Sports took the initiative of waiting until the last possible minute to drop our final
mock draft! A mix of the “obvious” picks and the most outlandish nonsense you could possibly
imagine.
Without further stalling… here it is.
1st Overall (Tennessee Titans): Cam Ward QB
This pick feels all but a guarantee at this point for the Titans. The Titans front office is
filled with inexperience along with youth, and this draft cycle proved that. They threw up
zero smoke screens or incentives for other teams to send the house with offers to trade up
to the first overall pick. They cancelled visits with other top 30 prospects in favor of the
Miami star QB and made no efforts to cover their tracks. Cam Ward is the obvious pick at
one.
2nd Overall (Cleveland Browns): Travis Hunter WR/DB
This is where it starts to get interesting for most mock drafts, but as of recently, the
Browns have been all over Travis Hunter. When you have an opportunity to take the
potential first unicorn in NFL history, you can’t pass that up. Especially when the Browns
are in dire need of firepower on the offensive side of the ball, but without reaching with
the second overall pick. Two weeks ago most experts would have told you that the
Browns were going to take Shedeur Sanders, but here at WSUM Sports, we have Travis
Hunter catching absolute rockets from Joe Flacco.
3rd Overall (New York Giants): Abdul Carter DE
The Giants get the privilege of taking whoever the Browns pass on with the second
overall pick, and since they seem to be firmly out of the QB conversation at three… It
looks like the pick has to be Abdul Carter. After Abdul Carter, the level of prospect falls
off a cliff, and the Giants would be foolish to go any other direction with the third pick.
(TRADE) 4th Overall (Chicago Bears): Ashton Jeanty
The New England Patriots are definitely in the market of trading down, and Ryan Poles is
in desperation mode to put that fresh new offensive line he put together to use. Here at
WSUM Sports, we have the Chicago Bears jumping over the Las Vegas Raiders and the
Jaguars in hopes of stealing Ashton Jeanty right from their grasp. This is definitely the
type of move the Bear would make, and the Patriots would definitely be willing to take
advantage of their aggressiveness.
5th Overall (Jacksonville Jaguars): Mason Graham DT
You know how we said that this mock draft is a mix of the most obvious picks and the
most outlandish nonsense you could imagine? Well, following our first outlandish
prediction, we have the Jacksonville Jaguars taking the best defensive player available on
the board. Most mock drafts have had the Jaguars taking Graham since January, and right
now it’s no different now on NFL draft eve.
6th Overall (Las Vegas Raiders): Will Campbell OT
Since the Bears traded in front of the Raiders in this hypothetical scenario, Ashton Jeanty
will no longer be there for the taking… so the Raiders will instead have an absolute gem
fall to them at six with the best tackle in the draft. When the only question about
Campbell is his wingspan, you know you’ve got a good prospect on your hands. Vegas
will definitely want to run the ball, and the first step is the trenches.
7th Overall (New York Jets): Armand Membou OT
The New York Jets are the first team in the top 10 that are truly unpredictable in terms of
who they are going to take. They need anything and everything, and the first step in
fixing that is taking who you feel is the best player available. Here at WSUM Sports, we
believe in the trenches, and hopefully so do Aaron Glenn and the Jets. We have the Jets
taking the most NFL-ready offensive linemen to protect newly acquired quarterback
Justin Fields.
8th Overall (Carolina Panthers): Tetairoa McMillan WR
Now that Bryce Young looks to be the answer at QB for the Carolina Panthers, and the
Panther offensive line took a step up last year… the last infinity stone in this equation is
adding the best pure receiver in this draft class. This one is an absolute lay up for the
Panthers and you can bet if the Patriots don’t swoop him at four, then the Panthers will be
happy to take him home.
9th Overall (New Orleans Saints): Shedeur Schmidt QB (hard worker)
Well this pick seemed impossible just 3 weeks ago, but with the recent Derek Carr
shoulder debacle, and the tanking of Shedeur Sanders prospect profile… this may be the
match made in heaven. However, the WSUM sports* poses this question… If Shedeur
Sanders was Shedeur Schmidt… would he be going this high?
*This is not a question that the entierityWSUM Sports poses. It is one that these five lunatics came up with.
10th Overall (New England Patriots): Tyler Warren TE
The New England Patriots get an absolute bag with this draft prediction. Likely getting a
very nice return from Ryan Poles and the Bears while landing one of the most
generational tight end prospects to block and catch passes for Drake Maye. The Patriots
need any and everything to help Drake Maye out on the offensive side of the ball, and
Tyler Warren is the ultimate offensive unicorn.
11th Overall (San Francisco 49ers): Will Johnson CB
Well, the 49ers are aging basically everywhere and have lost quite a few pieces.
However, to replace Charvarius Ward, the 49ers land the best pure corner in the draft
with the 11th overall pick to fill the hole immediately. Lots of people have been excited
to see Will Johnson come out for the draft the past two years, and it’s a bit surprising his
stock has him falling past 10 in a lot of mock drafts (including ours).
12th Overall (Dallas Cowboys): Omarion Hampton RB (Jerry Special)
It’s about that time again… another OUTLANDISH selection! Jerry Jones is dying to get
his team back to its winning ways. This is the splash move that desperate front offices
make. Don’t get us wrong, Omarion Hampton is definitely the second-best running back
in this class, but in no way, shape, or form is Hampton good enough of a prospect to go
top-12. This is a classic Jerry move.
13th Overall (Miami Dolphins): Jalon Walker DE
As of writing this, Jalon Walker has seen some top ten pick hype, and it only feels right to
have him go as the second defensive end off the board. He is versatile enough to play
anywhere but the interior in the front seven, and a team like Miami, which could use
defensive help in general, would love to have a player like this in their arsenal.
14th Overall (Indianapolis Colts): Colston Loveland TE
The Indianapolis Colts have an issue on offense that needs to be addressed right now…
and that’s tight end. Have those words ever exited my mind before? No. However, the
Colts are in a unique situation where both of their QBs are very much in need of a safety
valve to aid in their decision-making. The best help a turnover-prone quarterback could
use is an easy dump-off tight end who can also help out on those pesky defensive ends.
Colston Loveland is absolutely the pick for the Colts here.
15th Overall (Atlanta Falcons): Mykel Williams DE (Flipped a coin)
The crew was split on this one for the Falcons. Atlanta has one dire need, and it’s pretty
obvious that they are going to take a pass rusher. They were one of the worst teams in
terms of pressure rate last year, and it was ultimately their downfall in big games as an
8-9 squad. We flipped a coin between Mike Green and Mykel Williams, and the Falcons
come away with a solid pass rusher at 15!
